This section gives a summary of our current payment methods. Obviously a general guide can only be given here as not all options are available to every service. You can obtain more information by using the links to the individual services or contacting the individual service or Customer Services.

Direct Debit

Customers who have received a Council Tax, Business Rate or Council Invoice can normally opt to pay by Direct Debit. You cannot forget to pay your bill if you have a direct debit instruction in place for payment and you can benefit from a choice of three payment dates for Council Tax and two for Business Rates.

For further details please refer to the information which accompanies your bill or see the links below for the link to Business Rates and Council Tax web pages

Internet, Telephone and Touchtone telephone payments

These options are available for all services where you receive a bill or invoice. Payments for Parking Fines and Hall and Football Pitch Bookings can also be made using these facilities.

Payment by Debit or Credit Card can be made using the Councils Internet Payment Facility or by touchtone telephone using our lo-call number 0845 602 0727 anytime day or night.

Alternatively payment by telephone can be made by contacting a member of our Customer Services Team on 01784 451499 between 8am and 6pm Monday to Friday.

Please note that a fee is payable for payments by Credit Card for Council Tax and Business Rate as follows:-

2.6% for payments via internet or by telephone to an operator
2.3% for payments via touchtone telephone

If you use a service where a bill or invoice is not normally sent it may be possible to pay by Debit or Credit card by post or by phone. If available, details will be sent to you with the request for payment. It is now possible to apply for or order various Council services and pay for them online via our On-Line Services page
