Recycling and rubbish Rubbish, recycling and street cleaning services are provided by the department called Streetscene.
Building Control The Building Control team provides advice and guidance on building regulations, associated health and safety, the provision of disabled facilities, energy efficiency and more.
Environment The Environment Service is responsible for improvements to and conservation of the local environment. Key areas include: parks, common land and allotment sites; flooding and land drainage; energy saving measures including grants and climate change.
Planning Advice and guidance on planning applications.  Details of
planning policies, development plans and related issues.
Housing Strategy Advice and guidance on strategic housing issues and needs' assessments.
Pollution Enforcing a variety of environmental protection legislation, including that relating to the control of certain industrial processes, contaminated land as well as delivering the Council's air quality strategy and action plan to reduce air pollution.
