Local Initiatives | National and Global

The Council is positively dedicated to sustainability in general and does take the escalating effects of climate change seriously; one of the four corporate priorities for Spelthorne Borough Council is to make Spelthorne a better place.

This commitment is translated in our corporate literature and strategies; it is also cascaded down to our policies with relevant action plans, which revolve on promoting renewable energy, energy efficiency and biodiversity issues.

The Council has published its Environment Strategy (2003-2007) and is currently in the process of writing up its climate change strategy based on its own inventory for GHG emissions.
