Ingredients:
Used Paper
Screen on a frame  (you can buy this or make one specially)
Bucket
Blender or hand mixer
Magnifying glass
Water
Old newspapers

Optional
(Rolling pin, tea towels, dried flowers & leaves, colour paper)

Method
  1. Tear paper into 3cm squares, put in bucket, and soak in water overnight
  2. Scoop out a handful of paper and put it into the blender, add of water from the bucket and blend for about 30 seconds.
  3. Blending actually breaks the paper down into a pulp. After blending, dip your finger into the pulp and look at it closely with a magnifying glass. You'll be able to see the individual wood fibres that bond together to make paper!
  4. Pour the pulp onto the screen and let the water drain out. This should be done over a sink, as it could get messy. Place a layer of newspaper over the pulp and gently press out the excess water.
  5. Turn the screen and newspaper over so that the newspaper is at the bottom.
  6. Set it on a table, but cover the table first.
  7. Carefully lift the screen off the paper.
  8. Place another layer of newspaper onto the wet paper and gently press out more water. Turn it over and remove the layer of newspaper. Repeat this step a few times.
  9. Gently peel off the damp recycled paper and place it on a newspaper or table to dry over night. To flatten the paper you can put the paper between two tea towels and use a rolling pin.
