In Spelthorne we have six War Memorials located round the borough, these are in Ashford, Laleham, Shepperton, Staines, Stanwell and Sunbury. The war memorials were erected after the First World War with the names of the Second World War casualties being added after 1945. The war memorials get some external funding which can be applied for through external grants twice a year from charities which are dedicated to preserving them.
