The next Spelthorne Safer Stronger Partnership Action Day will take place in Staines on Thursday 14July.
Partnership Action Days offer the public the chance to see how the various organisations involved in community safety work together to tackle crime and anti-social behaviour. There is also an opportunity for the public to speak to representatives from organisations including Surrey Police, Surrey Fire Service and Spelthorne Council.
Community safety and the fear of crime is shown to be one of the principal concerns for local residents so these days are an important way of bringing the key people together.
There will be an exhibition trailer situated in the High Street, Staines, staffed by Police and other partnership agency staff offering advice on home security, personal safety, crime prevention and fire safety. There will also be displays from Age Concern, A2Dominion, Community Learning, Crimestoppers and SPAN (Spelthorne Personal Alarm Network).
As well as offering advice, enforcement action is also carried out including speed checks, vehicle inspections, car parking enforcement and checks on licensed premises.
Councillor Frank Ayers, Spelthorne Council’s Cabinet Member for Community Safety commented: “Partnership Action Days are designed to provide reassurance to our communities. A selection of people will be on hand to talk to local residents about a variety of topics, I very much encourage people to come along and express their views and get first hand advice and guidance.”
