How to set up a residents' association
If there is no residents’ association in your area, why not set one up?  Acting as a group gives people a greater voice about local issues, helps organisations to communicate with residents and can strengthen community spirit.  Steps to setting up a residents’ association include:

The Tenant Participation Advisory Service publishes useful leaflets on setting up residents' associations.  For more information, call 0161 868 3500 or go to www.tpas.org.uk.

If you are a housing association tenant, the association will be able to help you in getting more involved on your estate.
