Survey FAQ's
| Date | May - July 2008 |
| Aims | The Council was planning to launch a ‘Scores on the Doors’ scheme later in the year (October), to allow residents to check the food hygiene ratings for their local restaurants. As part of the process, the council was keen to consult local businesses and residents to find out what their preferred type of scheme was. |
| Methodology | The council consulted various organisations including local food businesses, local Chambers of Commerce and Resident Associations. An opportunity was also provided for residents to give their views via an online feedback form. |
| Response Rate | Over 100 responses were received |
| Main Findings |
The results revealed that 74% of respondents (80 out of 108) wanted to see a 0 to 5 stars scheme in Spelthorne. The grading for food hygiene standards in food businesses were therefore agreed as follows: 0 stars is very poor 1 star is poor 2 starts is fair 3 starts is good 4 starts is very good 5 stars is an excellent rating |
| Additional information | From 14 October 2008 you will be able to view what star rating your favourite restaurant, café or takeaway has by accessing the Council's website. |
