Winter is upon us and the weather is getting colder. For those that drive simply planning for the unexpected can save time, money and much inconvenience. Driving in wintery conditions needs extra consideration for both the road conditions and other road users.

The Highways Agency has a wealth of information and advice for winter driving, advice is also available from SURVIVE (Safe Use of Roadside Verges In Vehicle Emergencies)

Tip: When parking your vehicle, especially in snowy conditions or when snow is expected, think about how you will start your next journey. If you normally reverse out of your driveway, consider reversing in or parking at the end of the street.
