About the forum
All businesses in the borough or businesses who provide services to the borough are welcome to become members of the Forum and hopefully find the Forum both beneficial and a useful opportunity to network with senior Council Officers and with other Spelthorne business colleagues.

Membership of the Forum is FREE with meetings being held on a quarterly basis at venues across the borough.  At each meeting a guest speaker will give a short presentation about a topic of interest to the business community.

Past topics have included the Airtrack scheme (rail link to Heathrow) the proposals for the third runway at Heathrow, motorway expansion, Business Rates and Business Continuity Emergency Planning as well as presentations from organisations set up to give support to the local business community such as Business Link for Surrey.

The Forum will provide meaningful interactive opportunities:

  • A chance to network with other local business people
  • The opportunity to input your ideas to the Council on how they could help you achieve your business goals and tackle appropriate local business issues.
  • Access to senior councillors and council staff
  • Receive input on how to help guide the meaningful development of the Forum’s future
  • Increase awareness of the value of quality performance and the diversity of local companies.

The Forum is run by and belongs to each of its members with the Council providing the meeting co ordination but it will not be led by any single organisation or company. The success and future of the Forum will depend on its members’ proactively and their commitment to see it evolve and develop naturally, under the leadership of the companies participating in the work of the Forum.
