Eat Out Eat Well Award
Eat Out Eat Well Award The Eat Out Eat Well Award helps customers identify food businesses that offer healthier options, and rewards caterers who make it easier to make healthier choices when eating out. It has been developed by three Surrey authorities including Spelthorne, in conjunction with Surrey County Council’s Trading Standards Service.

It has three levels – bronze, silver and gold. The level of award is based on a scoring system that takes into account the type of food on offer, cooking methods and how it is promoted to customers. The higher the score the higher the level of the award: however, to obtain a Gold award key members of staff will also need to undertake some form of accredited/recognised training in nutrition.

Award winners and more details are shown on the Surrey County Council website at www.surreycc.gov.uk/eatouteatwell (external website). Those businesses that have got the award will display their certificate and logo at their premises.

If you are a caterer interested in applying for the award please contact the Environmental Health service to arrange for an assessment at Environmental.health.commercial@spelthorne.gov.uk or by telephone on 01784 446291.
