Equality and Diversity Policy
Title Equality and Diversity Policy
Date 2005.
Documents Policy (Word 111kb)
Aims This Policy aims to promote equality of access to services and employment opportunities, recognising that differences need to be respected and not result in individuals receiving a poorer service.
Overview The Policy outlines Spelthorne Council’s commitment to equality of opportunity for all in relation to the services and functions it carries out and in the employment practices it follows. The Policy includes the Council’s Race Equality Scheme and shows how the Council will meet its general duties under the Race Relations (Amendment) Act 2000.
Links The Equality and Diversity Policy is integral to the planning and delivery of all strategies and achieving the Council’s Four  Priorities and its aims. The Council’s statutory duty to promote racial equality needs to be taken into account and reflected in all the Council’s activities.
