Council Tax and Housing Benefits' surveys
We regularly carry out customer surveys to monitor and improve our services. This includes:

A Housing Benefits' satisfaction survey
Every three years all local authorities are required to carry out a satisfaction survey of benefit claimants. A copy of the survey can be viewed here and you can view the summary results here, or download the full report here. Encouragingly, we saw an increase in satisfaction with all aspects of our service this year. The ease of understanding claim forms was the area with which people were least satisfied and we are looking at how we can improve these.

A survey assessing awareness of facilities for those with disabilities
Every two years we monitor customer awareness of our facilities and services to help those with disabilities, for example our large print service, deaf amplification system and home visiting service. We do this by surveying all those in the Borough currently receiving disability benefit. A copy of the survey can be viewed here and you can view the results here. Our last survey suggested awareness of some facilities had declined and we will be increasing our publicity of these.

Council Tax customer survey
Twice a year we send out a Council Tax customer satisfaction survey. This asks customers about our service, including whether our staff were helpful and polite and whether it was easy to contact us.You can view a copy of the survey here and find out the results from our spring survey here and the results from our autumn/winter survey here.

Council Tax Inspector feedback form
In 2004 we sent a feedback form to everyone that our Council Tax Inspector visited. This included questions on their manner, appearance and helpfulness. You can view a copy of the feedback form here and find out the results here.

New occupier pack feedback form
In 2004 we also included a feedback form in all our new occupier packs, asking about the usefulness of information provided. New occupier packs are sent to all new residents in Spelthorne and include for example information about the Borough, how to register for Council Tax and leaflets about Surrey Police and Surrey County Council. A copy of the feedback form can be viewed here and you can find out the results here. We repeated this in 2007, but unfortunately only received a handful of responses. Nevertheless, you can view the results here.

We would like to thank everyone that has taken the time to complete one of our surveys or feedback forms. Your feedback helps us to continually improve our services.
