Spelthorne Together Assembly 2010 - Report
The annual Assembly meeting of Spelthorne Together (formerly the Local Spelthorne Partnership (LSP)), took place on 27 September 2010, 9am–1.30pm at Kempton Park racecourse, Sunbury.

This free conference was open to anyone who lives or works in Spelthorne.

The Assembly is an opportunity for representatives from the public, private, voluntary and community sectors to network, to share information and ideas and to take forward the work to improve life in Spelthorne. It is the only event in Spelthorne to bring together such a wide variety of people to have their say on key issues affecting life in the Borough.

The vision and plans for Spelthorne, as agreed by Spelthorne Together, are set out in the
Community Plan (2005 – 2015).

An updated version was produced in time for the Assembly, with targets/priorities for 2010-2012 published around the five themes:
  • Safer Stronger
  • Children and Young People
  • Health and Wellbeing
  • Economic Development
  • Housing and Infrastructure and Environment
The main part of the day looked at the five main themes – celebrating achievements and discussing future priorities.

There was a chance to vote for £1,000 to be spent on a preferred project from a choice presented by each theme group.

Around three dozen organisations brought display stands of interest to delegates.

Assembly 2011 will be on 26 September; to register interest e-mail  partnerships@spelthorne.gov.uk.
