Stanwell Community warden

The Council is aware that some residents have concerns regarding the future of the Warden scheme in Stanwell.

The position is that the Council is currently considering the possibility of merging the role of Community Warden with the new role of Neighbourhood Supervisor for Stanwell.  The latter is one of four new posts created by the Council to improve the Streetscene and environment and our overall engagement with the community across the Borough.  Some of the core roles that the Warden currently undertakes would remain and others will be reviewed. If the new role proceeds, Mick Raynor will remain highly visible and active within the community and would have the support of and be part of a wider Borough-wide team.

Discussions are currently ongoing about the precise nature of the new post and no firm decision will be made until consultations with all the relevant parties are concluded.

The Council remains totally committed to working with and supporting the community in Stanwell.

Crimestoppers – when would you use them?

If you don’t want anyone to know who you are - not even the Police - then stay anonymous and contact Crimestoppers.

You can ring Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or use their online secure form at www.crimestoppers-uk.org (external website) if you don't want to be identified as the person who contacted the police but, as a good citizen, feel that Surrey Police should be aware of what you know.

Crimestoppers, an independent charity, operates an anonymous service passing information from the public through to the police.  Crimestoppers do not trace or record the calls.  No details whatsoever are taken that could identify the caller.  When the caller puts down the phone that’s it.  Crimestoppers then does their job.  Crimestoppers has no idea who called them or any means of identifying the caller.  Crimestoppers just passes what the caller has told them about a crime or criminal straight through to Surrey Police for them to take the appropriate action. You can ring Surrey Police directly on 0845 125 2222 and this is always the preferred option as they can then call you back and ask more questions, get a statement etc.  You can even call Surrey Police confidentially but if you don’t want anyone to know who you are - not even the Police - then stay anonymous and use Crimestoppers.
