Severe weather warnings have been issued for the UK this week. We have put together some advice to help you cope with the weather conditions.
Christmas tree recycling sites
The Christmas tree recycling sites will be open from 4-17 January 2010 at the following locations:
- Fordbridge Park, Kingston Road, Ashford
- Fordbridge Road, Sunbury
- Manor Park, Russell Road, Shepperton
Winter Art Open Day
There will be a Winter Art Open Day at the Resource Centre in Commercial Road Staines on Saturday 19 December from 10am until 2pm and it is FREE.
Come along and make wonderful pieces of art with a winter and festive theme. The session is open to all children aged 4-11years and their parents or carers who must stay throughout the session. For more information contact Leisure Services on 01784 446433.
Garden waste collection
You are running out of time to sign up for the 2010 garden waste collection scheme at the special price of £40. After 31 January the cost will be £45 so apply today and save yourself £5.
Business Rates Empty Property Rate Relief Threshold
The threshold for rate relief on empty properties has been increased from £15,000 to £18,000 with effect from 1 April 2010 in line with the new revaluation. Ratepayers will not need to apply, this will be done automatically by the Council.
Fit from 50
The Fit From 50 Programmes are 8-week courses for men and women between the ages of 50 and 65 living or working in Spelthorne. View the poster for further information (Pdf 1.2mb).
