Boys Only Danze (BODZ)

Are you bored? Interested in street dance? Do you want to dance like Diversity?

Spelthorne Council has introduced a contemporary dance group for Boys aged 13 to 17.

BODZ meet on Thursday evenings at Shepperton Village Hall from 5-6.30pm, initially for a 10 week period. The sessions are free to attend but those who are interested need to book their place by calling the Council’s Leisure Services team on 01784 446433 or e-mailing leisure@spelthorne.gov.uk

Councillor Denise Grant, Cabinet Member for Young People and Cultural Services, said: “this is a great way for young boys to learn the different styles of dance. Spelthorne Council and Surrey Arts have secured funding from Sports Unlimited to run these sessions for 10 weeks. It’s a great way to encourage talented youngsters in Spelthorne to get involved”.

Resurfacing works: Kingston Road, Staines (from Knowle Green to Worple Road)

Surrey County Council is carrying out repairs to the Knowle Green roundabout during two weekends, 21–22 November and 28–29 November (7.30am – 7pm). The carriageway up to and including Worple Road roundabout will be resurfaced on Monday 30 November and Tuesday 1 December (8pm – 6am). Traffic flows will operate via a combination of lane closures and a stop/go system.

Please note all start and finish dates are subject to variation because of weather and other issues.

The work will improve Kingston Road by resurfacing, replacing damaged kerbing/ broken ironwork and road markings. Where possible access for homes and businesses will be maintained at all times, however, please allow more time for your journeys.

Please take great care when passing the works for your own safety and that of the workers. Work will end as soon as possible but traffic delays are inevitable.  Surrey County Council ask for patience.

If you have any queries regarding the work please contact Surrey County Council on 03456 009 009.
