Eighty objections have been lodged to the report which is now with government. There will be a public inquiry which is likely to be next spring which may well be held in Knowle Green. Among others to have lodged objections are Hounslow and Hillingdon Councils, the Environment Agency, Natural England and Clerical Medical Insurance (Elmsleigh Centre owners). Spelthorne Together Assembly
A capacity crowd of 120 delegates put their views on plans for the borough’s future at this year’s Spelthorne Together Assembly held on Monday 21 September.
Topics ranging from crime levels and provision for young people, to housing, health issues and economic development were discussed at the popular annual event held at Spelthorne Leisure Centre. Anyone who lives or works in the borough was welcome; delegates included business people from the private sector, public bodies such as the police and health service, voluntary organisations, residents associations, faith groups, local authorities and individual residents. The Assembly is an opportunity for people to network, to share information and ideas, and to take forward the work to improve life in Spelthorne. It is the only event in the borough to bring together such a wide variety of people to have their say on key issues affecting life in Spelthorne.
A summary of the Assembly and date of next year’s event will be available shortly – watch this space.
