Occupation Clinical Site Nurse Practitioner
Brief CV I have worked in various capacities at Ashford Hospital from 1979 to date rising from Charge Nurse to Clinical Nurse Site Practitioner in 1996.
I trained as a nurse at various hospitals before coming to Ashford Hospital in 1979 as Charge Nurse. In 1995/1996, I attended Brunel University (Bucks College) for the Clinical Nurse Practitioner's course and have since worked as a Clinical Nurse Site Practitioner at Ashford & St. Peter's Hospitals NHS Trust.
I have gained a vast amount of experience and managerial skills. In my practice, I supervise and monitor standards of performance, teach and assess learners and other staff, communicate and liaise with immediate colleagues and members of the multi-disciplinary team. I have developed an understanding of industrial relations and disciplinary procedures. I chair meetings, such as the Joint staff Consultative Committee and carry out audits and performance reviews. I keep myself up to date with changes and development of my profession by attending courses and seminars on a regular basis. Recently I trained as an "Improving working lives" assessor and carried out my first IWL assessment at a hospital trust in Buckinghamshire. I thrive on challenging situations and I feel that being a councillor offers me that challenge.
