Brief CV I began working in Staines for Petter Diesels as an engineering apprentice in 1978. On completion of the apprenticeship I worked in the metrology department until 1985.

1985 to 1988 I worked for Adwest Engineering in Reading as a Chief Inspector of the Quality Department responsible for a staff of seventeen.  The company made power steering for Aston Martin, Jaguar, Range Rover and Land Rover cars.

1988 to 1989 I had a brief spell with Thorn EMI Defence as a Quality Engineer working at their Browells Lane site in Feltham before moving on to London Underground as a Rolling Stock Quality Engineer.

I am still working in the London Underground environment as a Health and Safety Adviser working on the Re-signalling project for the Northern and Jubilee Lines.

First elected to Spelthorne Council in 1987 for Staines East and stood down in 1995 to complete a master’s degree in Operations Management.

Hobbies and interests include: photography, industrial history (particularly windmills), architecture, vintage radios (valve) and politics.
