Purchasing the Electoral Register
The "full" register lists everyone who is entitled to vote, including those who have chosen not to appear on the "edited" register. It may be inspected here at the Council Offices, but only hand written notes may be taken. Only certain organisations can have copies of the "full" register, and can only be used for electoral purposes, the prevention and detection of crime and checking your identity when you have applied for credit.
The other version is called the "edited" register and can be purchased for general use, including marketing. This listing contains fewer names as the electors are given the option of having their names omitted from it.
The cost of the register for a paper copy is £10 plus £5 per 1,000 names. The cost in data format is £20 plus £1.50 per 1,000 names. The total cost will depend on how many names appear on the register for the area you are purchasing. This can range from the whole of the "edited" register for the Spelthorne Borough Council area or to the smallest, such as a polling district with the Spelthorne area. These costs apply to both the "full" and "edited" registers.

The Council does not have a say in how much the register costs. The cost is set out in the Representation of People Acts and is set for the whole of the U.K.
