Searching the register
Electoral registration is performed locally by the local council electoral registration office for each area, and there is currently no official centralised register of electors that can be searched online. Spelthorne Borough Council does not make the electoral register available online. The register is available for public inspection under supervision at the Council Offices, Knowle Green, Staines, TW18 1XB.

The 2008 Electoral Register is on public deposit at the Council Offices in Knowle Green, Staines. In line with legislation the register may be inspected during normal business hours, under supervision. You will be required to provide your name and address beforehand.  No photocopying is permitted and only handwritten notes may be taken. The register for 2009 will be published on 1 December 2008.

Anyone finding inaccuracies or believing that their names should have been included should immediately contact the Council's Electoral Services and ask for a registration form.

If you are researching family history and would like to see old copies of the register we have old copies dating back to 1948 although prior to 1974 these only relate to Sunbury Urban District Council so do not cover some parts of what is now Spelthorne Borough Council. If you require copies prior to this you will need to contact the British Library (external link) or by telephoning 0870 444 1500
