Registration is performed locally by the local council Electoral Registration Office for each area, and there is currently no official centralised register of electors that can be searched online. The register is available for public inspection at the Council Offices, Knowle Green, Staines, TW18 1XB. This is carried out under the supervison of one of our team, so we adivse people to check with our office first to enusre we have someone available. No photocopying is permitted and only handwritten notes may be taken.
Anyone finding inaccuracies or believing that their names should have been included should immediately contact the Council's Electoral Services.
If you are researching family history and would like to see old copies of the register we have old copies dating back to 1948 although prior to 1974 these only relate to Sunbury Urban District Council so do not cover some parts of what is now Spelthorne Borough Council. If you require copies prior to this you will need to contact the Surrey History Centre (external link) by telephoning 01483 518 737. Alternatively you can contact theBritish Library(external link) by telephoning 0870 444 1500
