Benwell House

Benwell House

Benwell House is an office block on Green Street in Sunbury-on-Thames which was purchased for £9m. The 25,587 sq. ft. building is set within two acres of landscaped grounds, with easy access to the M3 and A316 and within walking distance of Sunbury train station.

The Council plans to convert the building into residential properties and is currently looking at how many homes would be appropriate for the site and three planning applications have been submitted to date:

The prior approval and conversion has been granted planning permission to create 33 flats. Two of these flats are being taken out at ground floor level to create a communal lounge area. Therefore there will be 31 flats in the conversion.

The current application is for a 24 unit roof top extension which takes the total to 55 flats.

The statutory consultation finishes on Friday 1 June (21 days after the statutory newspaper notice was placed). However comments will be taken into account right up until the application is determined.

Responses to the application will be considered by the case officer who will then submit a report to the planning committee. The date of that committee will be published when it is known.
