Clothing collection donation

Donation made to Manna Food Bank

Each year Spelthorne Borough Council donates a proportion of the money raised from the textiles collection service to charity. The chosen charity for this year was the Manna Food Bank who received a cheque for £800 on 11 October. Manna Food Bank is based in Staines and supports Spelthorne families and individuals who are in urgent need of food and essential household items.

Thanks to all our residents who sent in nominations for many good local charities (9 in total) to receive a donation next October. The amount will be shared between two worthwhile local charities, CREST Cancer Support and Home Start Spelthorne.

We hope this encourages residents to keep their textiles out of the rubbish bin and to put them in tied, clear plastic bags for our textiles collection service. To find out when your 3 in 1 Service (textiles, small electricals and food waste) collection is, enter your postcode into My Spelthorne.

We will have details on our website next summer for those who wish to nominate a charity for 2019. For information about textiles collections, visit www.spelthorne.gov.uk/textiles
