Stanwell Christmas lantern parade

Festive parade on Saturday 2 December

Year 5 students at Town Farm Primary School have been busy making paper lanterns as part of a workshop led by artist Becci Kenning in preparation for a festive parade on Saturday 2 December.

Residents are encouraged to come and watch the lantern parade which starts at 5.30pm from St Mary the Virgin Church in Stanwell* and will travel along Hadrian Way before finishing with carol singing around the Christmas tree outside the Sir John Gibson Pub in Clare Road. The pub will continue the celebrations with their own community event throughout the evening.

Wear your best festive fancy dress for a chance to win a prize.

Cllr Maureen Attewell, Spelthorne's Cabinet Member for Community Wellbeing, said: "It is wonderful when communities come together for these kind of events; I hope everyone enjoys seeing the beautiful lanterns and impressive fancy dress costumes!"

Thank you to Surrey County Councillor, Robert Evans, for sponsoring the Christmas tree in Clare Road.
