The Planning Development Management Service is consulting on a proposed amendment to the Council's Local List of Requirements for the Validation of Planning Applications.
The local list contains all the information which should be submitted with a planning application. If you have any comments to make on these changes, please can you write to the Planning Development Management Service at firstname.lastname@example.org by 29 September 2020.
We have received the following large major planning application:
Thameside House, South Street, Staines-upon-Thames.
Planning application 20/00344/FUL - Demolition of existing office block and erection of 140 residential units in two buildings, with flexible commercial and retail space, associated landscaping, parking and ancillary facilities.
During the Coronavirus Pandemic, we have temporarily extended our neighbour consultation period for all major planning applications to 28 days. However, we will also continue to accept letters of representation on all planning applications up until a decision is made. This application will be reported to the Planning Committee in due course. Please ensure that any additional letters to be submitted are received by the planning case officer and email@example.com no later than 10am on the day of the Committee meeting.
The Local Plan Preferred Options consultation (Regulation 18) ended on Tuesday 21 January 2020. This set out the Council's draft policies and possible sites to allocate for development up to 2035.
Since the consultation closed, officers have been reviewing all of the representations received and in due course amendments to the emerging Local Plan will be made where appropriate.
Amid the Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, officers are continuing to work through all of the representations and a response document will be produced setting out the key issues raised through the consultation in due course. All the representations and full responses will be made available on our website and the consultation portal.
However, as you will appreciate, the COVID-19 situation may mean that the production of the response document may take longer than anticipated. We have also commissioned a Masterplan for Staines and we want to have this work completed before continuing with the Local Plan so this has meant revising our timetable. Our revised Local Development Scheme (LDS) time table has now been published and we anticipate that the next stage of consultation (Regulation 19) will take place early in 2021. We ask that you bear with us during this difficult time.
Although moving forward our work on the emerging Local Plan is extremely important, the Council's top priority is to ensure the safety and wellbeing of its staff and its communities.
Each local planning authority has to have an up-to-date Local Plan setting out the policies and proposals that will guide development in the area. Spelthorne Council is preparing a new Local Plan for the Borough to cover the period 2020 - 2035.
During the Coronavirus Pandemic, we have temporarily extended our neighbour consultation period for all Major* planning applications to 28 days.
We will also continue to accept letters of representation on all planning applications up until a decision is made. However, please note that where a planning application will be reported to the Planning Committee, please ensure that any additional letters to be submitted are received by the Planning Case Officer and firstname.lastname@example.org no later than 10am on the day of the Committee meeting.
