Grounds maintenance, grass cutting, parks and open spaces

Spelthorne Council's grounds maintenance team maintain the Borough's parks and open spaces.

They are responsible for the following in our parks:

  • grass cutting
  • maintaining shrubs, hedges, flower beds and trees
  • planting trees, shrubs, bulbs and other plants
  • seeding and marking out of sports pitches
  • litter collection
  • removal of dog mess on selected sites

Other green spaces are the responsibility of housing associations (eg A2Dominion) or other bodies.

Please call Neighbourhood Services to report any problems.

Grass cutting and roadside verges

We cut roadside grass but not grass that is not on the highway. For example, grass which is privately owned or on land owned by bodies other than the County Council.

Trees on roads

All trees on roads are looked after by Surrey County Council.

Spelthorne is responsible for grounds maintenance of roundabouts within the Borough, some of which have sponsorship opportunities.  If you are interested in sponsoring a roundabout please go to the Marketing Force website.
