Sheltered housing

Social rented sheltered housing is available in Elmbridge and Spelthorne from a variety of housing providers. The largest numbers of homes are available through Paragon Housing Group and A2Dominion Group.

Properties are usually in purpose built developments, usually with one bedroom. There is limited availability for sheltered houses or bungalows, or two bedroom accommodation. Overall rents will include service charges to cover all the grounds maintenance and cleaning of communal areas so you can enjoy well-presented grounds and the peace of mind of a lovely living environment. Some schemes have an active social life, others are quieter, the majority are near to local facilities or bus routes. Further details on such properties can be viewed on the Paragon or A2Dominion websites.

Various schemes have age eligibility criteria of 55+ or 60 depending on the scheme. Most sheltered housing is allocated through Search Moves under our allocations policy - for this you need to qualify to join the Housing Register. The Housing Register is a list of the people who would like to be housed in social accommodation.

If you do not qualify to join the Housing Register you may be able to rent any remaining properties by contacting A2D direct on 0208 825 1717.

There are also some almshouses or other providers in the Spelthorne or Elmbridge who operate their own allocation policies, such as:
