Spelthorne Retail and Other Town Centre Uses Study

Spelthorne Borough Council commissioned consultants GVA to undertake a Retail and Other Town Centre Uses Study on its behalf.  The purpose of the study is to gather evidence about future retail needs in the Borough over the next 20 years.  It provides detailed information about Staines, Ashford, Shepperton and Sunbury.

The study includes an assessment of other town centre uses such as commercial leisure (cinema, bowling, bingo), restaurants or cafes and a 'health check' on the main retail centres in the Borough.

The final study, which also includes a set of appendices and the results of telephone and on-street surveys, can be found below:

As part of its stakeholder engagement on the preparation of the Local Plan the Council sought views on the draft version of the study.  A table of the comments made on the draft study and how these were taken into account can be viewed below or on our Consultations and Representations webpage.
