Mayor of Spelthorne River Day

Saturday 24 June 2017

The flotilla, led by the Queen's Rowbarge Gloriana, will arrive at King's Meadow Lawn at about 9.30am. Car parking is available and entertainment.

The flotilla will leave Kings Meadow Lawn at about 10.30am, making its way to Sunbury Lock (at about 11am) under Walton Bridge and past Manor Park entering Shepperton Lock at about 12.30pm.

It is expected to arrive at Thames Court at around 1pm, where there will be more family-friendly entertainment and parking available.

The flotilla will then make its way to Chertsey Lock for about 2.15pm and enter Penton Hook Lock where there will be entertainment, and will finish at Thames Lodge in Staines-upon-Thames at about 4.30pm. Gloriana will remain moored in Staines for an hour to give residents time to see her.

Gloriana will be joined by the Impossible Dream, a specially adapted wheelchair friendly motorboat which has been chosen as one of the Mayor's charities, and the Jolly Brit, the former tender to the Royal Yacht Britannia. Members of local rowing clubs will also join the flotilla in their own reach.

Other boat owners/cruisers are welcome to follow behind the flotilla but will also need to remain in their own reach as there is no arrangement for these vessels to pass through the locks. The river has not been closed for the event and normal river traffic will be present.

Boat owners can also moor up to see the flotilla, and bunting and flags are welcomed!
