Small electrical collections

Collections

Small electrical items are collected weekly as part of our '3 services in 1' collection (food waste, textiles and small electricals).

Find out when your collection day is

On your collection day, make sure small electrical items are:

  • tied up in a standard sized carrier bags (ideally labelled to show they contain electricals)
  • put out kerbside by 6am (next to your food waste bin)
  • without batteries and bulbs (leave plugs or cables attached)

Please remember this is a small electrical collection. Items that cannot be tied inside a standard sized carrier bag will not be collected. This includes larger kitchen appliances and pieces of home office equipment such as printers.

Yes please

  • irons/power tools
  • toasters/kettles
  • hairdryers/clippers/straighteners
  • clocks/watches
  • calculators/remote controls/ remote cars

Small electrical recycling banks

This service is available to most but not all households. If a collection date is not listed for you on My Spelthorne, it means you do not currently receive this service. However, you can take small electrical items to a recycling bank or if they are in good working order, please take them to a charity shop.

Large electrical items

Please take large items to the Community Recycling Centre in Shepperton or arrange a bulky waste collection (chargeable service). This includes items such as televisions, computers, microwave ovens and washing machines. For more information about recycling visit: www.recyclenow.com
