Collections

Small electrical items are collected weekly. On your collection day, make sure small electrical items are:

  • in clear plastic or carrier bags (ideally labelled to show they contain electricals)
  • kerbside by 6am (next to your food waste bin)
  • able to fit into a standard sized carrier bag
  • without batteries and bulbs (leave plugs or cables attached)

The items will be recycled so they do not need to be in working order.

Missed collections

Please complete the missed collection online form or contact Customer Services within one working day and we will return to collect your small electricals if you have followed the above instructions correctly.

Clear plastic bags

You can collect up to ten clear plastic bags from the Council Offices or Community Centres free of charge (for use with textiles OR small electricals)

Small electrical recycling banks

This service is available to most but not all households. If a collection date is not listed for you on My Spelthorne, it means you do not currently receive this service. However, you can take small electrical items to a recycling bank or if they are in good working order, please take them to a charity shop.

Large electrical items

Please take large items to the Community Recycling Centre in Shepperton or arrange a Bulky waste (chargeable service). This includes items such as televisions, computers, microwave ovens and washing machines. For more information about recycling visit: www.recyclenow.com
