Although Spelthorne Council offices will be closed from the 24 December 2025 until 2 January 2025 Surrey County Council’s Highways Team will be closed from the 19 December 2025 until the 5 January 2026, therefore, the last day for processing Full Searches will be Thursday 18 December 2025. These must be received no later than 3pm, this is to ensure that we will be able to get all the replies back to yourselves by the 24 December 2025.
The last day for processing component data searches is Tuesday 23rd December 2025, these must be received no later than 1pm.
New search requests received after 3pm on the 18th December or component data search requests received after 1pm on the 23rd December will be held securely and processed on our return to the office on the 2nd January 2026.
The Local Land Charges Department undertakes Con29 local searches on a property or land which you may be thinking of buying as well as on surrounding areas. These are usually requested by a solicitor who can explain the results to you.
Information is provided about matters which may affect the property for example planning applications, enforcement notices, building regulations, highways, whether the property is in a conservation area or whether there are any major developments planned.
LLC1 is now provided by HMLR via your portal account, , Business Gateway and on GOV.UK.
Search requests can be made via a search hub, email or post.

FORMS- All requests must have ONE copy of the CON 29 form (plus Con29O if applicable) and an up-to-date location Plan, site plans are NOT acceptable, plus the appropriate fee, see below for our present fee structure. Please be advised that once a search has been accepted for processing, regretfully, it cannot be cancelled.
Our quoted turn-around times are 3-5 working days, although most searches are returned within 2 working days via email or uploaded to the relevant hub. As part of our service we also provided recent legal agreements and TPO agreements. When you submit a Con 29 request you will also receive a copy of the Schedule showing the full and complete entries which are maintained by Spelthorne Borough Council as not all the data is captured by HMLR.
