Background information about the Issues and Options Consultation

The first consultation on the emerging Local Plan took place in May and June 2018. The Council asked the public to consider options for how Spelthorne could meet its need for housing, gypsy and traveller pitches, employment sites and other uses.

The Council consulted on the 

This paper set out the key issues affecting Spelthorne and the options considered for how we could meet our needs. These issues were not just about those we were currently experiencing but what our future may look like in 2035. The paper identified the challenges and constraints for development as well as the opportunities Spelthorne offered for growth.
