Elmsleigh Car Parks go ticketless with new smart parking system

news updates
Spelthorne Borough Council is pleased to announce the introduction of a new ticketless parking system at the Elmsleigh surface and multi-storey car parks in Staines-upon-Thames, launching Monday 27 October.

The upgraded system uses Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) technology, allowing drivers to enter the car parks without needing to stop and collect a paper ticket. On exit, users simply enter their vehicle registration number at a payment machine and pay using cash or card.

For an even quicker experience, motorists can pay via the RingGo app*, bypassing the machines entirely for a seamless, contactless departure.

This modernised system will significantly improve the parking experience by:

  • Speeding up entry and exit, especially during peak times
  • Providing multiple convenient payment options including card, cash and RingGo payments
  • Eliminating paper tickets, and the risk of losing a ticket
  • Introducing more payment machines

Chair of Spelthorne Borough Council’s Environment and Sustainability Committee, Cllr Malcolm Beecher, said:

“We are delighted to introduce this smart, ticketless parking solution to the Elmsleigh surface and multi-storey car parks. It’s a major step forward in modernising local infrastructure and making visits to Staines-upon-Thames smoother and more convenient, particularly during busy periods. And because it’s paperless, it’s more environmentally friendly.”

The Council remains committed to improving local services and looks forward to residents and visitors benefiting from this new, user-friendly parking upgrade.

*Please note additional charges apply when using the RingGo app at the Elmsleigh surface and multi-storey car parks.
