The winners of this year’s competition were announced at a special celebration evening held on 3 November at Notcutts Garden Centre in Staines-upon-Thames. The event brought together members of the local community, volunteers and sponsors to recognise the outstanding efforts that enhance the beauty and sustainability of our neighbourhoods.
Speakers on the night included Spelthorne in Bloom Chair, Nick Wood-Dow DL; Notcutts General Manager, Stuart Blight; Mayor of Spelthorne, Cllr John Doran; the High Sheriff of Surrey, Peter Cluff; Spelthorne MP, Lincoln Jopp MC; Surrey Police Borough Commander, Matthew Walton; Leader of Spelthorne Council, Cllr Joanne Sexton; and Spelthorne Council’s Chief Executive, Daniel Mouawad. Each commended the participants for their enthusiasm, creativity and commitment to making the Borough bloom.

As well as winning Best in Show, the Charlton Village Residents’ Association were also presented with their award for winning Gold in the Small Village category of the South & South East in Bloom competition.
Chair of the Spelthorne in Bloom Committee, Nick Wood-Dow, said: “Every year, I am amazed by the creativity, care and community spirit shown by everyone who takes part. From vibrant front gardens to flourishing community spaces, each entry reflects the pride people take in where they live. These efforts don’t just make Spelthorne more beautiful, they help bring people together and inspire others to get involved.”
Mayor of Spelthorne, Cllr John Doran, said: “Spelthorne in Bloom is a shining example of what makes our Borough so special - people coming together to make a positive difference. The passion and hard work of residents, clubs and businesses brighten our streets and strengthens our community spirit. Congratulations to everyone who took part, you make Spelthorne a place we can all be proud to call home.”
