Spelthorne Council launches Crime and Safety Survey
The survey is a key part of the Council’s work with the Safer Stronger Partnership, helping to understand local views on crime, anti-social behaviour, feelings of safety, confidence in local services and priorities for community safety across the Borough. The findings will directly inform the Council’s and partners’ community safety actions for the year ahead.
Cllr Susan Doran, Chair of Spelthorne Borough Council’s Community & Wellbeing Committee, said: “Your voice genuinely shapes the way we tackle crime and anti-social behaviour in Spelthorne. Each response helps us understand what is working, where improvements are needed and how we can make all areas of the Borough feel safer. I encourage everyone to take a few minutes to complete the survey and share their experiences.”
The 2025/26 Community Safety Survey focuses on topics including:
- How safe people feel in their local area
- Perceptions of crime and anti-social behaviour trends
- Views on issues such as drug usage, fly-tipping, vandalism, nuisance behaviour and noise
- Confidence in Surrey Police and Spelthorne Borough Council
- Personal experiences of crime, harassment or discrimination
- Specific locations where respondents may feel unsafe
- Community safety priorities (e.g. burglary, road safety, knife crime, domestic abuse, cybercrime, rural crime)
- How residents prefer to receive safety information
