Stanwell Hotel update

Following our press statement issued on Tuesday 29 July in which Cllr Joanne Sexton wrote to the Home Office to raise serious concerns about the government's proposal to change the client group at the existing facility at the Stanwell Hotel on Town Lane to accommodate only male asylum seekers, we are pleased to inform residents that the Council can now confirm that the Home Office has agreed to speak with the Council on Friday 1 August to discuss the proposals in greater detail

We want to reassure residents that the Council is fully aware of the concerns expressed by the community and is committed to raising these directly with the Home Office during the meeting.

We will update you after the meeting.
