Chancellors Budget October 2026 - Announcements and Implications.
Due to the intended utility bill increases from 1 January 2027, the Chancellor has announced assistance would be provided to properties that have a council band from A to D in the value of a one-off payment for £100.00.
This payment will not be made until at the earliest January 2027 when it becomes official legislation, as exclusion will apply in some cases, as well as fact that the Government will have to provide the necessary funding for the scheme prior to January 2027.
In regard to the proposed changes concerning Business Rates, again official legislation has yet to be issued by the Government but note they will not take until 1 April 2027.
