Check where your waste is going
If your household waste is found dumped (fly-tipped), you could still be held responsible, even if you have paid for someone else to dispose of it.
Whether you find someone through social media, an advert or leaflet, or you use a trader who is carrying out work at your home – ask for their waste carrier’s licence.
It is illegal for them to take your waste if they don’t have one. You can check if they are a registered waste carrier online at https://environment.data.gov.uk/public-register or by calling 03708 506 506. If they don’t have a licence, there is no guarantee rubbish will be disposed of safely and responsibly at an authorised site.
If you have any information regarding fly tipping, please contact the Council’s Enforcement Team by emailing neighbourhoodservices@spelthorne.gov.uk or call 01784 446411.
