Help us plant two Miyawaki forests
We’re inviting volunteers to help plant 1,200 young trees (whips) made up of a wide range of native species. Planting sessions will run from 10am to 3pm on the following dates, and you’re welcome to join for as much or as little time as you can.
Hengrove Park, Ashford
19 and 20 February
Littleton Recreation Ground, Shepperton
26 and 27 February
No previous experience is needed – just enthusiasm and a willingness to get stuck in! This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a special project that will boost local biodiversity, improve soil health and help create thriving urban woodland spaces for future generations.
What is a Miyawaki Forest?
Miyawaki forests use a proven planting method that allows native woodland to establish quickly and densely, creating rich ecosystems in a fraction of the time of traditional tree planting. They are especially effective in urban areas and on land with poor soil.
