Spelthorne launches new Call for Sites tool
The upgraded survey platform supports the Council’s Corporate Plan commitment to deliver ‘digitally enabled and accessible services’ and aligns with the national drive towards a modern digital planning system.
The Call for Sites is an open invitation for landowners, developers, community groups and residents to suggest land that could be suitable for future uses including housing, employment or green space.
Every site submitted helps the Council explore all realistic options for delivering new homes, strengthening the local economy, supporting communities and enhancing the natural environment.
This year, the Call for Sites also includes an opportunity for landowners to propose sites for Biodiversity Net Gain, helping to restore nature and offering new income opportunities.
Cllr John Turner, Chair of Spelthorne Borough Council’s Environment and Sustainability Committee, said: “Launching this improved digital Call for Sites tool makes it much easier for residents, landowners and developers to put forward land for consideration. It is important that we gather as much information as possible about land availability across the borough so we can properly plan for Spelthorne’s future needs, whether that is new homes, employment space or opportunities to enhance our natural environment.”
Submitting a site does not guarantee development or granted planning permission - it simply ensures it can be assessed fairly.
There are now three simple steps to submit a site:
- Click 'Next' at the bottom of the survey information page here to access the Call for Sites survey
- Draw your site boundary on the interactive map and answer a set of questions
- Submit your entry, along with any files you wish to upload, at the end of the survey
Before submitting, users are encouraged to read the FAQs and step-by-step guide below.
