Spelthorne strikes Gold at prestigious awards
The annual South & South East in Bloom competition encourages councils, residents and businesses to work together to enhance local environments and make towns and villages more attractive and sustainable places to live.
The Council’s continued efforts to create a cleaner, greener and more vibrant Borough have been recognised with Gold awards for:
- Staines Cemetery
- Sunbury Cemetery
- Sunbury Walled Garden
Cllr John Turner, Chair of Spelthorne Borough Council’s Environment and Sustainability Committee, said: “We’re absolutely delighted that Staines Cemetery, Sunbury Cemetery and Sunbury Walled Garden have all received Gold awards. This is a fantastic achievement and a testament to the hard work and dedication of our teams who take great pride in maintaining these wonderful spaces for everyone to enjoy.
“Our cemeteries provide important places for remembrance and reflection, while Sunbury Walled Garden is a beautiful green space for residents and visitors to enjoy. These awards recognise the care that goes into looking after them and our ongoing commitment to creating a cleaner, greener and more sustainable Borough.”
