Community environmental groups

Community environmental groups

Community groups in Spelthorne offer the opportunity to spend time outdoors working to improve the local environment alongside friendly groups of volunteers with similar interests.

The links below give details of the various groups in the Borough who would be keen to hear from you.

Let us work together to make Spelthorne a better place for all who live and work in the Borough.

Egham and Staines Conservation Volunteers

Egham and Staines Conservation Volunteers meet once a fortnight throughout the year in the Runnymede and Spelthorne areas to perform a variety of tasks, all aimed at improving the local environment. You can find a calendar of upcoming events at www.runnymede.gov.uk/escv.

No great skills are required and all tools and refreshments are provided. Could you spare a few hours on one of the Sunday tasks?

Spelthorne Tree Wardens volunteers to plant and maintain trees in our community. The national tree wardens scheme was established by the Tree Council after the great storm of 1987 to allow people to play an active role in conserving and enhancing their local trees and woods.

Spelthorne Tree Wardens celebrated its tenth year in 2006 and the group supplies and plants over 150 standard size trees annually. If you would like a tree planted for a small donation (£35), please get in contact with us.
