Small electricals

Small electrical items are collected weekly as part of our '3 services in 1' collection (food waste, textiles and small electricals). 

Find your collection day or report a missed bin

On your collection day, make sure small electrical items are:

  • tied up in a standard sized carrier bags (ideally labelled to show they contain electricals)
  • put out kerbside by 6am (next to your food waste bin)
  • without batteries and bulbs (leave plugs or cables attached)

Please remember this is a small electrical collection. Items that cannot be tied inside a standard sized carrier bag will not be collected. This includes larger kitchen appliances and pieces of home office equipment such as printers.

Yes please

  • toasters/kettles
  • hairdryers/clippers/straighteners
  • clocks/watches
  • calculators/remote controls/ remote cars
  • lamps/torches
  • mobile phones/cameras/chargers
  • laptops/radios
  • smoke detectors/thermostats

The items will be recycled so they do not need to be in working order.

Missed collections

If you think your bag of small electricals has been accidentally missed, contact us within one working day by completing the online form above or contact Customer Services. We will return to collect your small electricals if you have followed the above instructions correctly.

Clear plastic bags

Please tie your small electrical up in a carrier or plastic bag, preferably a clear bag, do not use black bin bags as these will not be collected. We ask you to limit your small electricals to one carrier bag per week.

Large electrical items

Please take large items to the Community Recycling Centre in Shepperton or arrange a bulky waste collection (chargeable service). This includes items such as televisions, computers, microwave ovens and washing machines. For more information about recycling visit: www.recyclenow.com
