The responsibility for statutory listing a building rests with Historic England. Please contact the Planning Service planningdm@spelthorne.gov.uk for more information. The Local Planning Authority is responsible for approving buildings on the Council's Local List. Please contact the Planning Service planningdm@spelthorne.gov.uk for more information. The initial request to locally list a building will be considered by the Principal Planning Officers in consultation with the Planning Development Manager or Strategic Planning Manager. If it is considered that a building may be considered worthy of being added to the Local List, a view will be sought from the Council's Historic Advisor. If the advisor concludes a building should be added to the list, the owner or the applicant's agent will be consulted and given 21 days to respond. A report will be prepared and put before the Planning Committee for a decision.
