Action Surrey

Action Surrey offers free impartial energy advice, in partnership with local councils across Surrey, helping to reach as many residents as possible.

The advice Action Surrey can give you include:

• what energy efficiency improvements can be done to your property
• how they work
• what the benefits would be for your property
• what grants are available
• putting you in contact with local trusted installers

Warm homes grants for central heating and gas installation

Spelthorne Borough Council have secured a share of £1.2 million from National Grid's Warm Homes Fund to help fund new installation of mains gas to properties and first-time gas central heating systems, helping those residents who currently have inefficient, older electric heating systems, or no central heating.

Residents who experience health conditions linked to living in a cold home, who have expensive electric heating, hot water systems, no heating or a home with an EPC rating of E, F, or G will be eligible for funding. People who have met other specific conditions will also be able to apply.

The funding is available for residents in privately owned or rented properties who have been identified as being off the gas network and qualifying for the first time central heating scheme or never having benefited from a central heating system for their home.

The Warm Homes Fund is a £150 million fund established by National Grid and administered by the Community Interest Company Affordable Warmth Solutions across England, Scotland and Wales. It is designed to address fuel poverty issues by incentivising the installation of affordable heating solutions in fuel poor households who do not use mains gas as their primary heating fuel.
