Terms and Conditions for Bulletin survey prize draw (winter 2022)
Definitions
"The Council": Spelthorne Borough Council
"Entrants": Residents of the borough of Spelthorne only, aged 18 and over
"Closing Date": Midnight on Tuesday 31 January 2023.
"Prize": £50 gift card
Terms and Conditions:
The prize draw of submitted survey entries advertised in Spelthorne Borough Council's Bulletin (Winter 2022) is free to enter and open to all residents aged 18 and over in the borough of Spelthorne, but excludes all Spelthorne Borough Council employees, councillors and their immediate family. No third-party entries or bulk entries (post or online) will be accepted. The Council reserves the right to verify the eligibility of entrants and the Prize may be withheld until and unless the Council is satisfied with the verification.
- Only one entry per person is allowed.
- Survey entries not complying with these terms and conditions will be invalid.
- Survey entries must include answers to questions 1 to 5 of the survey.
- Survey entries must include an email address or daytime telephone for contacting the winner.
- Incomplete survey entries or entries received after the Closing Date will be disqualified from the prize draw.
- After the Closing Date, the winner will be selected at random in a prize draw from all eligible survey entries received. The winner will be notified by email or phone after the draw.
- Once notified, the winner will need to contact the Council to arrange collection or postage of the Prize. If collection is being made in person, the winner will need to bring proof of identity e.g., birth certificate, driving licence or passport.
- When the Council sends out the Prize, it will use the Royal Mail second class post. The Council cannot be held responsible for a Prize that does not arrive.
- The Prize is awarded conditionally upon acceptance and if a winner is unable to be contacted after 28 days from the draw date, or if any Prize is unclaimed or declined within a reasonable period, the Prize shall be deemed as unclaimed or unaccepted and a supplementary winner may be drawn at the Council's discretion.
- The Council will not be responsible for any inability of a winner to take up the specified Prize.
- The Council reserves the right to provide a substitute prize of similar value should the specified Prize become unavailable for reasons beyond its reasonable control. Cash or credit alternatives will not be offered. The Prize is not transferable.
- In the event of fraud, abuse, or an error affecting the proper operation of the prize draw, including the allocation of more prizes than are available, the Council reserves the right to end or suspend the prize draw; declare void the notification of winner; and re-allocate the Prize by conducting a new prize draw.
- The Council will publish the name(s) and general location(s) of the winner in the Council's e-newsletter (Bulletin), in local newspapers and on the Council's website unless the winner ask for less information to be published.
- Entrants' personal data will be collected, stored and processed for the purposes of administering and assessing the prize draw, and if consent is given by the entrant, for the purposes of future communication and distribution of the Council's e-newsletter (Bulletin) in accordance with obligations under the Data Protection Act 2018.
- The Council reserves the right to suspend, cancel, postpone or amend the prize draw and/or review and revise these terms and conditions.
- The Council's decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
- To the extent that it is permitted by law, the Council does not accept any liability for any damage, loss, injury or disappointment suffered by any Entrants as a result of either participating in the prize draw or being selected for a prize.
- By submitting a survey to the Council, it is deemed that entrants have accepted the terms and contracts contained herein.
- The promotion is governed by English Law and is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
