How to invite the Mayor to an event

If you would like to invite the Mayor to an event, please email the Mayor's secretary at mayor@spelthorne.gov.uk

Please include:

  • your contact details, including telephone number
  • details about the event - location, date and time
  • what the Mayor is being asked to do - hand out prizes, make a speech

Events

Residents are invited to attend the Mayor’s Afternoon Tea, an elegant afternoon in support of the Mayor’s charities.

When: Friday 20 March 2026
What time: 2.30pm – 4.30pm
Where: Squire’s Garden Centre, Upper Halliford
Price: £30 per person Including:

  • Sandwiches: Classic fillings
  • Scones: Plain or fruit, with jam and clotted cream
  • Sweets: Cakes and pastries
  • Drinks: Refreshments, including prosecco

Raffle tickets will be sold on the day to WIN a spring floral hanging basket.

Cash and card accepted.

Making a difference - The charities these events will be helping

Beyond the excitement and entertainment, the heart of these events lies in their purpose: raising funds for four vital local charities that provide essential services within the community.

 The Mayor’s Annual Spring Soirée 
Join us for an elegant evening of music, dancing, and celebration at the Hazelwood Centre – the Home of London Irish.
Friday 6 March 2026 |  7:30pm – midnight
£55 per person, including reception drinks, a hot and cold buffet, and evening entertainment.
All proceeds support the Mayor’s charities.
 

  • Surrey Care Trust - Stanwell Community Group
    Based at Lord Knyvett Hall and Stanwell Community Allotment, this volunteer-led initiative supports community wellbeing through events, health activities, and social inclusion. Over 1,500 people engaged in events such as Diwali celebrations and family fundays, fostering pride and connection within Stanwell.
  • 1st Stanwell Air Scout Group
    Offers Scouting to boys and girls aged 6 to 14 in the Beaver, Cub, and Scout sections. Focused on teamwork, adventure, and personal growth, the group helps young people build confidence and life skills through hands-on learning and outdoor experiences.
  • Families Thriving Together
    Provides free and inclusive parenting support aimed at reducing stigma and creating a sense of community. Their mission is to make parenting support accessible to all, encouraging open conversations and mutual support among families.
  • Spelthorne Museum
    Run entirely by volunteers, the museum showcases Spelthorne's history from the Ice Age to today with exhibits like the London Stone and a 1738 fire engine. Rotating exhibitions and community-focused displays keep local heritage engaging and alive.
