What is Spelthorne doing

As part of the scheme development process, Spelthorne Council, a statutory consultee, had a duty to respond to consultations related to the proposed expansion at Heathrow. The council was consulted on different aspects of Heathrow Airport Limited's emerging proposals and it responded in a timely manner throughout the scheme development.

However, the plans for expanding Heathrow faces an uncertain future after the Court of Appeal ruled that the expansion plans were unlawful as they did not adequately take into account the commitments made by the Government under the Paris Climate Change Agreement.

The Council has generally scaled back its collaborative work on Heathrow expansion but involvement in other pieces of work, such as changes to flight paths, is still ongoing.
