Retail and Leisure Study: Household telephone survey

The Council have appointed Urban Shape to undertake a Retail and Leisure Study.  The study is part of the Council’s ongoing local planning evidence updates. It will help shape the future role of the town centres across the Borough, to ensure they are successful, vibrant centres which respond to the needs of current and future residents. 

As part of the study, residents in the Borough and surrounding areas may be contacted by a market research company called NEMS to participate in a telephone survey. The telephone survey will include questions about where residents go for shopping and leisure activities, and what their views are on the town centres across Spelthorne.  NEMS will be undertaking the telephone survey during January 2025. The survey will take between five to ten minutes to complete.

Once completed, the final Retail and Leisure Study will be available to view on the Spelthorne Borough Council website later in 2026.
